Rapture, a feeling of intense joy or passion. Leaving behind rational thought in favor of emotional liberation. The religious concept of rapture, leaving the body behind for the kingdom of heaven. Freeing yourself through music, through dance, through dance music. Choosing to leave behind the mental, the physical, to be reborn, to let go. I wanted to create songs to be lost in, for the soul to leave oneself to.

Julia Govor’s JUJUKA label is welcoming Chicago based artist Justin Demus’ (stylized as justindemus), whose musical journey has led him to the realm of electronic experimentalism. Since learning guitar at the age 9, he has surrounded himself with music, utilizing it as a primary form of art and expression. Playing in bands throughout his teens, he eventually developed an affinity for electronic production and DJing, releasing 6 acclaimed EPs over the past decade and becoming ingrained in Chicago’s underground dance music scene. Rapture will be justindemus’ first release in 4 years and marks the beginning of an ambitious, focused, and free sound.
